How to Win Friends and Influence People Summary

Post by pappu665 »

A clear example of this is when you see a family photo or a photo with your group of friends where you appear, you are not really interested in seeing how others look, by instinct you look for yourself and only observe in detail how you look. Are you going to lie to me?

So if you want to appear cool and interesting, listen and don't talk. Ask others questions about themselves and encourage them to talk as much as they want. The secret to being interesting is simply being interested.

Truly listening means giving the other person your full attention. Consciously make an effort to show that you are genuinely interested in learning about everything they have to say. Don't interrupt or get distracted.

Sigmund Freud was famous for his ability to listen to others. He was a master sales marketing directors managers email lists at showing others how interesting he found everything they told him, and as a result people felt completely comfortable talking to him and revealing even their most private emotions and experiences.

On the other hand, talking excessively about yourself, without listening to others and constantly interrupting others when they are speaking, will make other people dislike you instantly. If you only talk about yourself, it indicates to everyone that you are a very self-centered person and that you only care about yourself, making you a person who is disliked by others.

In conclusion, if you want to be liked by others, practice being a good listener and encourage others to talk, especially about you.

“You can make more friends in two months by being genuinely interested in other people than you can in two years by trying to get other people interested in you.”

Chapter 5. Show your appreciation for others by talking about what is important to them.
As I mentioned before, humans enjoy a good pair of ears willing to listen to us, but even more than that, we enjoy talking to someone who is knowledgeable about our interests, whether it be our passions, work or hobbies. Everyone likes to talk about topics that are important to them and naturally likes someone who shares these interests.

The easiest way to get yourself into the mindset of appreciating others is to always keep in mind the #GoldenRule: Treat others as you would like to be treated.
