"Buy with your credit card and accumulate points" or "request a loan and participate in the drawing for an apartment" are some of the promotions that banks use to attract more customers.
The president of the Peruvian Association of Consumers and Users ( Aspec ), Crisólogo Cáceres, recommends being prepared to not give in to these marketing strategies.
"Many users, even though they have the money in hand, prefer to pay with a credit card to access an offer and do not realize that this apparent saving will be charged in commissions," he says.
Problems arise when consumers get anhui number screening carried away by these promotions and end up receiving 'gifts' that do not meet their expectations.
"They tell you that if you buy with a card you will get a computer, but they don't specify that you have to accumulate a lot of points. Otherwise, they will only give you a plastic item," he says.
TAKE YOUR TIME If a financial institution offers you the opportunity to participate in a drawing to win an apartment or a car in exchange for opening a savings account or applying for a loan, do a prior analysis of the interest rates and commissions it charges, advises the director of the Finance area at UPC, Manuel Chu.
"Maybe you trust a certain bank because it offers promotions, but you don't realize that it has the highest rates on the market," he warns.
Chu suggests not being influenced by offers , especially if they lead you to buy something that is not useful to you: "You must always keep in mind that nothing is free in this life."
