Find place and company with IP address
The IP, Internet Protocol Address, is a unique address that identifies the device used to connect to the network and can therefore be used to track a person. To find the IP from Gmail, simply click on the arrow in the Email menu at the top right and click on Show original (as in the image below). From Outlook go to File / Properties / Internet Headers.

Google Search for Exact Email
The first thing we do when we don't know something is to search for it on Google and even in this case big G comes to us by car. Paste the suspicious email address into the search bar using the phrase match (example "[email protected]") and find out more information before opening. It happens that if this address is or has been used for scams you will be reported;
Reporting
Rapportive is a Chrome browser extension that will give you the information you need to use work email. This tool will provide you with the sender's Linkedin profile right inside your email account, just open the email you are interested in and on the right you will see all the information about the person who sent you the email including shared connections, location and profile photo. Microsoft is already working on the next Outlook with this feature that integrates it with Linkedin.
