The departure of these two executives follows the departure of former Facebook chief technology officer Bret Taylor, who announced his departure in June. Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook's chief executive, said on his Facebook profile that he was "proud to have a culture where great entrepreneurs like Bret join Facebook and can have such an impact."
Beard, for his part, has been instrumental in building Facebook's relationships with some of the largest developer platforms, such as Zynga. Beard, like many other Facebook employees, joined the social network after his time at Google, where he was the director of business development.

Mitic had worked for Palm, which developed mobile products using the company's webOS platform. "After two fantastic years at Facebook, it's time to start my entrepreneurial adventure," the executive said on her Facebook page. Facebook's plans for the new replacements are not yet known.
