first Prim watches

Post by pilide2813 »

After 2000, I happened to buy my “first Prim watches” somewhere in the antiques shop out of nostalgia, which was the impetus for me to slowly start collecting them. At that time, it was more of a recreational activity, because photography for magazines, advertising agencies and music publishing took up most of my time, and there was no time for hobbies. At the beginning of 2005, I discovered Chronomag, a tiny watch forum at the time, which brought together enthusiasts and watch lovers finland telemarketing into a community where they could exchange experiences, advice and photos. The most interesting section, where new information was added daily, was “PRIM watches”. The problem of the first discussions was how to classify and name Prim watches, because up until then, apart from the official names Orlík, Spartak, Sport, there were actually no names. My watches were piling up in ziplock bags and paper boxes. And I gradually searched for information about them on Chronomag, because other information sources were not available at the time.

In order to share my photos, I started taking photos of my collection. At the beginning of the year, I managed to buy a huge collection of several hundred beautiful PRIM watches from a collector in Slovakia, which I gradually photographed with the plan to make a large PRIM book over time. In 2005, I had photographed about 400 watches, which had to be retouched and processed in post-production. Between 2005-2006, my assistants and I retouched the photographed watches. In 2007, Lilly was already bigger and I returned to 100% commitment to my work, and the PRIM book project remained in a drawer. In 2009, I was approached to prepare a 77-page picture book for Elton watchmakers, Stroj času – Prim watches in portraits by David Kraus. And so I started photographing Primes again. After many weeks spent on the book Stroj času, I decided to sell my collection due to space and time reasons, but I
