She worked with policymakers and organized conferences and meetings. This meant a lot of writing, translating, and working with people on the ground who were affected by policy. “My work on the ground usually involved research, organizing social movements, and community empowerment,” she said.
Devin’s experience hosting events inspired her to attend meetups and WordCamps, sharing her energy with others to make things happen. As in her professional life, she felt that WordPress was an opportunity to work and share with people something that could make a difference in someone’s life.
"For me, it's all about the heart. I do things that I feel strongly about. Things that call to me, and that I'm good at, but that also give me the opportunity to learn and get better. WordPress might be the perfect place for that."
In between jobs, Devin was offered the opportunity to phone number library volunteer at WordCamp Denpasar 2016. With some help, she created an online resume (CV), learned how to manage a WordPress site, navigate wp-admin, and make content attractive to potential employers.
As a result, she landed a job as an organizer of an online and offline promotion campaign. The campaign was the brainchild of a group of university friends in America who wanted to go global, and it used WordPress.
and helped shape the content, calls to action (CTAs), and user experience (UX). She also had to work with the backend to make adjustments. Since the company was global, all materials were developed in English, and Devin worked closely with the translators and supervised their work.

In late 2018, she left her job as a campaign manager to focus on freelance projects and spend more time contributing to the WordPress community. She also started an initiative to help street cats in Jakarta.
